The more people here your message, the more likely it is to stick with them. This is why it is important to spread your organization’s message as frequently as possible throughout multiple avenues. One of these avenues is the comment sections of blogs.
There are still a number of people that are both cynical and skeptical towards young voters and the Millennial generation as a whole, many of whom are using the blogosphere to spread those anti-youth messages. Unfortunately as it stands now the number of youth advocates active in the blogging community are slim, as are blogs specifically dealing with the youth vote. By contributing to blogs by posting quality, relevant comments that promote your message you are reaching a lot of online readers as well as showing the world that your organization is active and engaged.
The other benefit of commenting on blogs is that most of the time you are able to include your website’s URL with your comment. People who read your comment may visit your website to learn more about you and your organization. These links will help you build traffic on your site through direct referrals as well as through improved search engine rankings.
The most important thing to remember is that your comments need to be on message and high quality. If you are going to write a comment to a blog post using your organization’s URL you don’t want to engage in name-calling, profanity, or anything else that you would not like to have associated with your organization’s brand. Quality comments show readers that you are informed and engaged and will likely boost their esteem of you and your organization.
