Campus Progress National Conference 2010

The 6th Annual Campus Progress National Conference is coming up on July 7 and 8 in Washington, DC. The two-day will be attended by more than 1,200 young people from across the country.

Day 1 – Wednesday, July 7: See inspiring speeches, panels, performances, and take part in interactive discussions.

Day 2 – Thursday, July 8: Learn how to make your voice heard in your community and in the media and have the opportunity to engage Senate offices on issues that matter to you.

Space at the conference is limited, as are travel and housing scholarships, so you should apply as soon as possible if you are interested.

You can apply online at the Campus Progress website.

The Young Democrats of America are holding their 2009 Fall National Conference at the Doubletree Hotel in Orlando, Florida the weekend of November 20-22.

The Fall National Conference, the first after the August’s 2009 National Convention, will involve strategic planning for the next two years, great trainings, and opportunities to network with other young Democrats from across the country.

There is an Early Bird registration rate until October 15th, and people interested in attending can register here.

If you or your organization is interested in sponsoring the conference or purchasing an advertisement in the program book, check out the sponsorships page.

The Young Democrats of America have two major events coming up in the next few months.

The 2009 YDA Spring National Conference will take place from June 12th to 14th at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston, TX.

Those interested in attending can register for the conference online and download the conference schedule.

The conference will feature the All Hands On Deck Fundraising Seminar: a 3 hour training session on fundraising strategies to help chapter leaders raise money to build their organizations and to send delegations to the National Convention in Chicago. I will be running the online fundraising component of the seminar.

Another highlight of the conference will be the Presidential Farewell Roast of David Hardt. The previous Presidential Farewell Roast for Chris Gallaway was extremely successful two years ago in Omaha and I’m excited to be on the panel of roasters again. The amount of money roasters raise for YDA will determine the amount of time they get on stage, so if you want to add another 30 seconds to my time you can make a $15 contribution at my page. (You’ll also get to see a picture of me dug up online from Boy Band Night back in college).

If any organizations are interested in sponsorship opportunities for the conference check out the sponsorship packet.

The 2009 YDA National Convention will be held in Chicago, IL from August 5th through 9th. The convention will feature the election of national officers, trainings, great speakers, a major community service initiative, and the opportunity to meet Young Democrats from across the country. The Convention is being held at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.

The Convention website is now live at ydachicago2009.com and online registration is open.

You can stay connected by following the convention account on Twitter (@ydachicago2009) or by joining the Facebook group.

I hope to see many of you at one or both of these events.

To Netroots Nation, and Beyond

I will be leaving the bastion of heat shortly for the bastion of slightly less heat but more humidity shortly. I’ll be arriving in Austin around 2 PM.  I’ll be covering the conference via this here laptop, doing to do a little live blogging, a little video, a little who knows what else.

If you are going to be at NN and want to get a hold of me, you can DM or @reply my Twitter (kbondelli) or text message at 480.205.5711. If you text me make sure you tell me who you are in the message.

Young Voter PAC, Future Majority and Living Liberally are teaming up to throw the hottest party at Netroots Nation. Check out the celebrity bartenders: Darcy Burner, Ashwin Madia, Scott Kleeb, John Aravosis, Joan McCarter, Kos, and Stoller. The event is sponsored by our very own YDA President David Hardt, and you know he rolls in style.

A $20 cover charge, payable before the event or at the door, gets you into the event and free beer and food for the first hour. All tips to our Celebrity Bartenders will also go to the Young Voter PAC’s 2008 endorsements and our new State Party Youth Director program. Guests must be 21 to attend the event.

This is going to be an awesome event that benefits some of our favorite candidates and causes.

The party is at Cedar Door’s Biergarten on 2nd and Brazos on Saturday night.

If you’d like to attend, you can pre-purchase your tickets at http://youngvoterpac.org/events.php.

There is also a Facebook event set up, so go RSVP and spread the word to your friends that will be in Austin.
