Even traffic signs are based on stereotypes. When Republicans say that there won’t be racial profiling and that they will look at other factors like “clothing,” it means the stereotype of someone who looks Hispanic with inexpensive clothing. It is hard to believe that Gov. Brewer does not think of any stereotypical qualities when she thinks of “illegal immigrant.”
